KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ong Kim Swee is officially the new president of the Football Coaches Association of Malaysia (FCAM), succeeding the late B. Satiananthan, who died in July.
Kim Swee, the head coach of Sabah, won the post uncontested at today's congress meeting.
The 52-year-old is committed to carrying out the work initiated by Satiananthan, who highlighted concerns such as "puppet coaches" in the M-League.
"It will be a tough job. However, moving forward, we need to raise sponsors to initiate coaching activities. Generally, we will continue what the late Satiananthan had started.
"We want a bigger voice moving forward in our affairs with the Malaysian Football League (MFL) and the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM)."
Former Melaka United coach Asri Ninggal and FA of Malaysia (FAM) youth unit head Razip Ismail were elected as the new FCAM deputy presidents.
