KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor are in talks to extend the contract of the man who scored Malaysia's winner in the pre-World Cup match against Kyrgyzstan recently.

Faisal Halim, the nippy 25-year-old forward, is in demand.

There has been speculation over Faisal's future with Selangor following rumours that he may join another club.

Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said: "Mickey (Faisal) is still with Selangor. and he is focused and committed to ending the season well. Right now we are discussing his contract with him.

"There are a couple of clauses but we are in talks (on contract extension). He is an important player for Selangor.

"We want to keep him for as long as possible. We are happy with him and he's happy with Selangor."
