KUALA LUMPUR: Police continued their impressive start to the 2023 Super League season after notching their second win with a 2-0 success over Kelantan United today.

The match, an evening fixture at the MBPJ Stadium, saw Police maintaining their position in the top half of the table following the win, heading to the international break.

Credit to Police coach Azzmi Aziz for turning the club into a tough nut to crack this season.

It took the home side just 10 minutes to find the breakthrough. Striker Uche Agba unleashed a powerful shot that was palmed away by Asyraaf Omar but straight to the path of Dzulfahmi Abdul Hadi, who lashed home the rebound.

In the 38th minute, Agba drove inside the box and was brought down for a penalty. He stepped up and converted from the spot.

The visitors did come out fighting in the second half, but despite having more ball possession than they did in the first period, they did not create enough to trouble Wilfred Jabun in Police's goal.

Agba was substituted during the second half due to a shoulder injury.

As for Kelantan United, this latest defeat sees them in 14th spot --- last in the league with four defeats from five matches thus far.
