ALOR SETAR: PDRM FC head coach Azzmi Aziz is delighted with his players performances during their 1-0 win over Kedah Darul Aman FC at the Darul Aman Stadium last night.

PDRM's Bruno Suzuki scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute.

Azzmi is hoping his squad can build on their performance after failing to win their first two matches against Sabah FC (0-4) and Perak FC (0-0).

"I am grateful because this is not only our first win but also the first goal we have scored this season," said Azzmi.

"We knew that Kedah are a very good team, they are comfortable with the ball and are not easy to break down. Our strategy was to play a counter attacking game.

"It was not easy to beat them but we were very determined. In football anything is possible."

Azzmi added that he had been studying Kedah's strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the match.

"We changed our strategy for the match against Kedah. We studied the match they had previously played against Terengganu FC and took note of what (Kedah head coach) Nafuzi Zain has been implementing," said Azzmi.

"This helped us understand them better. However, I still have to praise my players who worked hard to achieve this win.

"Bruno had a few opportunities in our previous matches but could not convert, this time (against Kedah) he proved he can score. He has a very professional attitude and works hard in training."

Azzmi was formerly Kedah assistant coach during the 2017-2018 season under head coach Nidzam Adzha.
