KUALA KUMPUR: Police produced the first big shock of the 2023 Super League by edging Kedah 1-0 at Darulaman Stadium on Saturday for their first win of the season.

Going into the match in Alor Star, Kedah were one of four teams with a perfect win record after two rounds of matches but were forced to bite the dust following a Bruno Suzuki strike in the 75th minute that proved to be the decider.

Kedah had the match firmly in their control but frustration kept building up as Police defended stoutly.

In the 60th minute, captain Manuel Ott was sent off for a foul on Police's Fadi Awad.

To make matters worse, in the 70th minute, Kedah coach Nafuzi Zain was deemed to have acted aggressively towards the fourth official and was promptly sent off by the on-field referee Azizzan Ariffin

In an earlier game at Sultan Muhd IV Stadium saw Kelantan United and Perak play out a scoreless draw in a match where chances were few and far in between.
