KUALA LUMPUR: Vietnam will await the winners of the semi-finals between Thailand and Malaysia in the AFF Cup final.

The Golden Star Warriors subdued Indonesia 2-0 in the semi-final second leg at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi tonight. The first leg ended 0-0 last week.

Nguyen Tien Linh was the toast of the Vietnamese side as he scored two goals against Indonesia.

Vietnam started both halves in the best possible fashion, scoring minutes after the opening whistle to reach their third final in the last three editions of the biennial Asean competition.

The game was hardly three minutes old when Tien Linh latched onto a sumptuous pass from Ho Tan Tai, fended off Jordi Amat before striking the ball into the bottom corner to give Vietnam the lead.

Vietnam had total control of the match but theatrics from both sides led to several stoppages in the first half as players clashed and tempers flared.

Two minutes into the start of the second half, it was deja vu for Indonesia as Vietnam struck again with Tien Linh coming out on top, rising highest to glance home a Do Hung Dung corner.

Indonesia coach Shin Tae Yong had no answers to an uncompromising Vietnam defence that still have yet to concede a single goal in six matches thus far in this AFF Cup.
