KUALA LUMPUR:  Datuk  Ong Kim Swee  believes the Malaysia Cup final  between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Terengganu will not be a one-sided affair.

Both teams are already featuring in continental-level AFC competitions, setting the stage for a blow-for-blow fight.

Former national coach Kim Swee said the showdown, at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, is a must-watch game.

"It will be an interesting game because both teams are doing well in the M-League and also playing in Asia-level competitions. So we will see an intense final," said Kim Swee.

"Many predict that JDT will successfully defend their title, but let's stay positive and say that it will be a fight between two big teams."

Kim Swee pointed to the Turtles' impressive results in the recent AFC Cup where they held Australia's Central Coast Mariners to a 1-1 draw and a 1-0 win.

Kim Swee, who is also a former FAM technical director, said: "Terengganu have retained about 70 per cent of last year's squad. We also see plenty of young players who are up and coming there.

"With the amount of experience they have hauled in from the AFC Cup, it will grow them to become better players. It's not just about strength but exposure too.

"I think if they can hold off JDT for 90 minutes, they will have a chance. JDT will be out for a treble again and they look very strong. But it will be an interesting game because Terengganu can cause an upset," said Kim Swee.

"It will be a match that the fans will love to watch."
