KL City are wary of Melaka United's four "Mouseketeers" who have turned their team into a formidable side in the Malaysia Cup.

The City Boys host the Mousedeer behind closed doors in today's semi-final first leg at KLFA Stadium in Cheras.

Melaka's Sony Norde, S. Kumaahran, Giovane Gomez and Adriano Aparecido are the players who KL coach Bojan Hodak described as dangerous and could spoil his team's hopes of reaching their first final since 1989.

The four players have been instrumental in Melaka's unbeaten run in the competition, scoring eight goals between them in the process.

"Melaka have the depth in all departments, especially in attack.

"If you give Norde, Kumaahran, Gomez and Aparecido space, they will punish you with goals.

"Melaka have been playing well after replacing some of their foreign players.

"However, we have improved this year as well.

Melaka coach Zainal Abidin Hassan, meanwhile, said playing behind closed doors at KLFA Stadium will not offer his team an advantage.

"Every team have adapted to playing behind closed doors due to Covid, so it does not offer us an advantage.

"My players are free from injuries and motivated to create history as we have never reached the final. This is our best chance to end our dubious record.

"For the first leg, we have to be cautious as KL have a good striker in Romel Morales.

"Other players are also dangerous," said Zainal of his team's first semi-final appearance since 1983.
