TAIPING: Terengganu's Nur Aisyah Zubir won her second gold medal at the Malaysia Games on Friday

Aisyah, who won the time-trial title for the third consecutive time in the Games, retained her women's 80km road race gold with a time of 3:00:40s.

Sarawak's Nur Azrenna Jumry won silver in 3:00:41s while Sharifah Nur Ilyana of Terengganu came in third (3:00:41s) after a photo finish.

"Overall, I'm happy with my performance as I managed to defend the gold I won two years ago. I have been training for the last one and a half years for this moment

"And with my performance in the Malaysia Games, I hope to be selected for the Philippines Sea Games time-trial next year if the event is held there," said Aisyah.

Two years ago, she won five gold medals for her state and she now wants to add three more in Perak in the criterium, keirin and scratch events.

Today (Saturday) she will team up with Ezzatie Fifiyana, Nurul Najihan Inani and Sharifah Nur Ilyana in the criterium at the Taiping Lake Gardens.
