America's iconic hospitality queen, Martha Stewart's daughter, Alexis, marketed her sprawling triplex apartment in Manhattan's West Village for US$53 million in 2019.

The 9,500-square-foot residence ultimately sold for 42 per cent less than the asking price recently.

The West Village unit was sold by Alexis for a price in the low US$30 million range, according to the New York Times.

The final asking price for the six-bedroom unit is staggering, even after being reduced by just half from its initial listed price.

It was reported that the unit has 600 square feet of outdoor space, a gym, and a walk-in refrigerator.

The main suite occupies an entire floor and comes with a dressing room the size of some studio apartments, among other features.

The main living floor has 360-degree views. It offers views of the World Trade Centre and Statue of Liberty to the south, Greenwich Village to the east, Hudson Yards to the north, the Hudson River to the west, and Hudson Yards to the south.

Richard Meier, an architect, created the 16-storey structure, which was completed in 2005.

According to reports, Martha spent over US$35 million to buy four apartments and combine them into an expansive triplex.
