KUALA LUMPUR: The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) has appointed Datuk Seri Koe Peng Kang as the new president of the World Council of Developers and Investors for a one-year term, effective June 30, 2023.
Koe aspires to connect international developers and investors and unlock potential for cross-border partnerships and collaborations in the real estate industry through his new role, FIABCI said in a statement.
He has a career spanning over three decades and a wealth of experience in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure work, and property development.
Koe served as IOI Properties Group Bhd's project manager before joining SP Setia in 1997 and subsequently advanced through various business and operational roles before retiring from his post as the deputy president and chief operating officer in 2022.
He was also the president of FIABCI-Malaysia (2020–2022) and vice-president of the FIABCI-Asia Pacific Committees (June 2021–MMay 2023).
Koe is also a registered professional engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia.
His contribution to the construction and property industries includes the successful implementation of large-scale national projects such as the Petronas Twin Towers.
