Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda), via its subsidiary Perda Ventures Incorporated Sdn Bhd (PVISB), has launched two mixed development projects with a gross development value (GDV) of almost RM1 billion.

The first project located in Taman Ara Suria sits on 16.84 hectares of land and the second project is sprawled across 70 hectares in Taman Ara Damai.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said the two projects will offer residential units starting from M42,000 to RM350,000, depending on the type of house.

"I was informed that the GDV of both these projects that amounted to almost RM1 billion is the effort of Perda with PVISB to offer affordable homes to the people," she said at the launch.

According to Bernama, Taman Ara Suria is a mixed-development project comprising a 15-storey block of low-cost flats with 174 units, 386 units of single-storey terraces houses, and 51 units of shop offices.

Taman Ara Damai includes 1,450 units of single-storey terraced houses, 74 units of double-detached homes, 468 units of low-cost townhouses, and 80 units of shop offices.

Taman Ara Suria is expected to be completed at the end of 2024, while Taman Ara Damai will be completed by 2025.
