KUALA KUBU BAHARU: In the lead-up to the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) is redefining traditional campaign strategies to better engage and mobilise young voters.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim emphasised the need for more meaningful interactions with youths rather than relying solely on conventional campaign methods.

"Traditional activities like barbeques may not resonate as strongly with young voters compared to more interactive engagements. In previous campaigns, we held dialogue sessions with local youth groups in Kerling, which proved to be more impactful," he told reporters following a PH campaign event in the area yesterday.

Adam also emphasised the importance of dialogue and open communication to address the concerns and issues faced by young voters effectively.

This approach aims to foster a deeper understanding of youth issues and establish two-way communication between candidates and young voters.

He said, additionally, the party was also leveraging social media platforms to reach and mobilise young voters outside of Kuala Kubu Baharu.

"Efforts include collaborating with influencers and organising online campaigns to encourage voter turnout among young people.

"We will explore what options we have to call them back home and vote.

"We need to find ways to motivate young voters to return home and cast their votes. While we cannot make extravagant promises, we hope to raise awareness among youths about the importance of participating in the electoral process," Adam explained.

Adam said feedback received from their interactions stressed the importance of addressing youth unemployment, improving access to facilities for recreational and economic activities.
