SHAH ALAM: The fiasco where the Islamist party Pas asked Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau to leave its ceramah was an isolated case and shall not be repeated in the future, said Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin said the matter had been resolved, and Pas had also issued an apology to Lau.

"Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has issued an apology letter and explained the situation.

"I believe there was a misunderstanding, which then led to such issues to happen.

"The incident will also not have a huge impact, nor will it prolong as this is the only case that happened, and it does not reflect the attitude of any Pas or PN leaders," he told a press conference after the launch of PN's 'Selangor Baharu, Kita Bangkit' manifesto, tonight.

Lau was the talk of the town after he was told to leave a Pas-organised ceramah in Sungai Dua on Tuesday night, focusing on their candidates in Kepala Batas and Tasek Gelugor.

He had since cleared the air, saying there was no truth to the claim that he was asked to leave the Pas ceramah.

Pas had apologised over the incident, saying that the Islamist party did not condone such disrespectful behaviour towards a leader of a component party in the coalition.

Its secretary-general Takiyuddin said members and supporters should accept the decisions made by the party's top leadership with an open heart.

At the same time, Muhyiddin said the coalition would also hold a mega ceramah for all its leaders to share the same stage ahead of the state polls.

"Following the incident, I have also requested that a mega ceramah be held where all PN leaders can share the same stage.

"Since our (PN) establishment, we have worked as a team with no prejudice against each other. (And) the incident did not picture what happened and will not affect the coalition (relationship) moving forward.
