KUALA LUMPUR: Former Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin does not see his sacking from Umno as a defeat and has hinted at a comeback.

He also called on fellow comrade Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein - who was also disciplined by the party to soldier on.

"Chin up, Hisham. This is far from over," Khairy wrote on his Instagram story in sharing a screenshot of a news article on his dismissal from Umno last night.

Umno last night confirmed that Khairy and Tan Sri Noh Omar had been sacked from the party.

The party had also suspended Hishamuddin - who is Sembrong member of parliament, former Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan, Tebrau Umno division chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang and Jempol Umno division chief Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Shariff from the party for six years.

In an immediate but brief response on his social media channels last night, Khairy, who is also former Rembau Member of Parliament (MP) informed that he had been sacked from the very party that he loved so much and was loyal to.

"Unbowed, unbent, unbroken," he announced via a Facebook post and a tweet.

Following their dismissal, Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Muafakat Nasional (MN) leaders have stretched out their respective hands of friendship to Khairy and Noh Omar.

Gerakan has also invited Umno leaders, who were either sacked or suspended from their party, to join the multi-racial party.
