KUALA TERENGGANU: It will not be easy for Barisan Nasional to recapture Putrajaya in the 15th General Election (GE15), said caretaker Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

Annuar, who is Ketereh Umno division chief, said the coalition should not be overconfident.

He said BN must work hard to win over voters to ensure victory would be on its side.

He said aside from the stiff fight against other coalitions, several other factors could affect BN's chances in the Nov 19 polls.

"BN has enormous challenges to overcome. I can honestly say that if any of my friends in BN think this election will be an easy win, then they are wrong.

"There are many new factors at play that we've never seen before GE15.

"First, we have a lot more new voters this time, after the implementation of Undi18.

"Second, we have changed governments three times, which will allow the public to evaluate all three administrations.

"We also have internal issues in Umno that we have yet to resolve. These are the reasons why I believe this election will be a challenging one," he said during a visit to Kampung Pulau Bahagia here last night.

Annuar urged BN to acknowledge that there would a split in votes in GE15.

He said BN, Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) would split votes three ways, something that BN leaders should take note of.

"It depends on the constituency. Different areas will have different outcomes for all parties contesting.

"Because of BN, PN and PH, the votes will be split, so we must redouble our efforts to ensure our victory."
