PASIR SALAK: Former Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman today slammed those who have been criticising the leadership of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as prime minister.

Tajuddin, who is Pasir Salak member of parliament, said he and the people of Pasir Salak would continue to back the Bera MP.

"I am loyal and will continue to support the prime minister. Let people say what they want, that he is weak.

"Whether he is weak or strong, they don't even know," he said.

Tajuddin was speaking at the Kenduri Rakyat event in conjunction with the 'Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia' or Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour at the Litar Dato' Sagor in Kampung Gajah here, today.

The closing event was officiated by Ismail Sabri.

Tajuddin said that Ismail Sabri, in the span of a year, had weathered numerous challenges as a leader, including the Covid-19 pandemic as well as other matters affecting the people.

"In one year, he has faced many obstacles. What is his fault? Why do people accuse him of this and that as if he is undeserving of being the prime minister?

"As an Umno division (Pasir Salak) or not, in Pasir Salak here, I can assure you that I will continue to strongly support the prime minister.

"Don't play with me. I can gather thousands of people, as seen in the Melayu Bangkit and Anti-ICERD (International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination) rallies.

"That's my job. We will continue to fight ," he said.
