MELAKA: Two assemblymen, who were sacked from Umno for retracting their support for the Melaka Chief Minister have confirmed joining component parties in Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Datuk Nor Azman Hassan said he and Datuk Seri Idris Haron will join Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and PKR.

Nor Azman, 57, who is Pantai Kundor assemblyman, however, refused to elaborate on the matter.

However, he said the PH Presidential Council has confirmed to him that it will accept him and Idris, 55, into component parties in the opposition coalition.

Idris, who is the former Sungai Udang assemblyman, could not be reached for comments.

The two are among four assemblymen famously known as the Melaka 4 who had retracted support for Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, which led to the collapse of the Barisan Nasional (BN)-led state government.

Speculations have also been going around about Nor Azman and Idris' move to join PH.

Nor Azman said PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make an announcement on the seats to be contested by him and Idris in the state election.

"Wait for the announcement by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow (today)," he said when contacted last night.
