TANAH RATA: The Cameron Highlands by-election campaign which kicked off on Saturday has seen Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, Ramli Mohd Noor only getting three hours of sleep daily.

“Sleep is only three hours, the rest of the time is spent campaigning as arranged by the party. This is not something new for me,” he said.

The former senior cop said he was used to always being prepared, referring to his stint as a police officer, stating that this has become part of his daily routine.

“Rest, no matter how short it is, is quite important. I also take extra food to ensure that I am always energetic and am able to move comfortably.

“I take short breaks to rest when there is time. If the journey from one place to another takes some time, I try to take a nap. I also exercise to ensure that I am energetic at all times,” he said

Ramli said his daily campaign routine would begin after Subuh prayers and breakfast.

“Even yesterday, I only finished campaigning at about 3.30am,” he said after visiting the Kampung Raja voting district centre, here, today.

On his campaign which is in its fourth day today, Ramli said that he is positive and the signal from voters which he had received thus far is quite clear.

"Alhamdulillah, I am a local and understand my community. I am an Orang Asli and when I am with the Orang Asli community, I know what are the problems that they are facing and I also understand their economic problems,” he said.
