KULIM: The planned rally in the city centre on Dec 8 is not just to oppose the ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) but also to demand for Pakatan Harapan to fulfill its election promises.

Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wadji Dusuki said there was a need for people to send the message to the government that it needs to keep to its word.

“We not only want to send a message about ICERD but also make clear several other things too.

“This includes fulfilling promises to lower the cost of living, reducing fuel prices, abolishing tolls and other promises which have remained unfulfilled,” he said.

Asyraf however reminded those who wanted to take part in the rally not to bring any weapons and also to dress in all white while carrying the Malaysian flag.

“Bring posters..write whatever you want so that the message is delivered loud and clear to the government.

“The government must be reminded that it cannot fool the people,” he said.
