SHAH ALAM: It is still too early to say if Datuk Seri Azmin Ali or Rafizi Ramli is leading the fight for the PKR deputy president’s post in the Selangor state level polls, said Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin, who is also vying for a spot in the PKR central leadership council, said this was because a high number of dubious votes have yet to be processed while the polls for Selangor will conclude on Sunday.

“We will have to wait until end of this week to know the results. This is because by then, all the dubious votes will be counted. There is quite a high number of voters attendance in Selangor. That means there is a significant number of dubious votes, too.

“In Pahang, for example, the early counting results for the state showed that Azmin had lost by 200 votes. But after counting the dubious votes, he had won by 90 votes.

I think this is a trend in many areas especially in places where we have members who have been with the party for a long time but the system has not been updated with their information.

“What needs to be improved is PKR’s electoral roll. It needs to be updated to avert the delay (in counting),” said Amirudin today.

Amirudin was met after officiating the Selangor Price Control Property Development Seminar at the Shah Alam Convention Centre.

Asked if neither Azmin nor Rafizi should show confidence of winning the party’s number two post, Amirudin said psychological warfare is common during elections.

“My advice is, the candidates should not fall for their own propaganda,” said Amirudin.
