MARUDI: The opposition will try every trick in the book to mislead Baram voters during the final hours of campaigning today.

However, Sarawak Assistant Minister for Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, who is also the Marudi assemblyman, said the people of the parliamentary constituency were not a gullible lot.

He said he was confident they would be able to tell the difference between fake news and facts.

“The opposition are prone to blacken the reputations of Barisan Nasional leaders rather than explain what they have done for the people in Baram,” he said at a gathering with the people in Kampung Pemindahan here.

“There is a stark difference between BN leaders and the opposition. We campaign with credibility, explaining our vision for a better future, while the opposition is reduced to carrying out a smear campaign.”

Penguang reminded voters that BN had a line-up of credible candidates who would bring positive change to Sarawak.

“I hope the people in Baram will make the right choice when they cast their votes. Do not be influenced by your emotions. Think wisely before casting your votes,” he said.
