MELAKA: Bukit Katil Umno division chief Tan Sri Mohd Ali Rustam has lamented that since the Parliamentary seat here fell to the opposition in the 2013 general election (GE13), constituents have received insufficient help and support from the authorities.

Mohd Ali, who is also Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) chairman, said some people are saying that the last four years have been a complete “loss” for the area.

Then Chief Minister Mohd Ali suffered a shock defeat to PKR vice-president Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin in the Bukit Katil Parliamentary battle in 2013.

"We hope we can regain our spot once again, as many people are talking about going back to Barisan Nasional (BN)," he said after officiating the opening of the Baroqah Foodstuff Sdn Bhd outlet in Bukit Katil earlier today.

Baroqah Foodstuff Sdn Bhd is a PUNB investee company which is a distributor and retailer for a wide range of snack foods.

Mohd Ali said preparations for BN to regain the Parliamentary seat here began three months ago, with the launch of an operations centre and various community outreach programmes.
