KOTA BARU: The Umno Flag run from Kubang Kerian, led by its division chief Datuk Seri Muhammad Abdul Ghani, reached the Yayasan Kemiskinan Kelantan complex at about 11am today.
Muhammad, who led about 500 participants in the 10-km run, handed the Umno flag at the Tun Ghaffar Baba hall to Umno information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is also Ketereh division chief.
Annuar said he is happy with the participation of members, and that the event, which is on its third day, is going smoothly.
"The run is not an ordinary run – (it demonstrates the) significance of the (Umno) struggle from one generation to another," he said.
One of the participants is party veteran, Salleh Ali, from Dewan Beta here. The 80-year-old former teacher said he is energised and wants to show younger members that he is capable of completing the run.
