KUALA LUMPUR: The unsportsmanlike behaviour of a child footballer during a match with other children, has raised eyebrows.

The one-minute footage shows the boy participating in a football match and charging towards other players, intending to kick them.

Parents can be heard in the background calling out the boy's unsportsmanlike behaviour as the referee blows the whistle to diffuse the situation.

One parent can be heard saying: "Don't do things like that, adik."

The angsty child footballer was also seen hitting the back of another player as the opponent scored a goal, much to the dismay of parents and spectators on the sidelines.

In another scene, the child was seen dangerously slide-tackling another player and throwing a tantrum to the referee after he was given a red card.

He was then seen being taken off the field.

"Parents of the child, please be aware over such behaviour. He can still be educated."

Another social media user @muhdfathullah said the boy's parents should be held responsible

"I feel that as parents, if you know your child can't control his emotions, don't put him in a tournament. His tackle can ruin another child's future."

Meanwhile, @gocawesome said such an attitude was a reflection of his upbringing.

"With this kind of attitude, it's obvious you have to blame the parents. The way they are raised at home is wrong, leading the child to feel overly entitled wherever they go.

"Most of the time, if children behave like this from a young age, it means their parents are also entitled."
