KUALA LUMPUR: A group of Malaysians are travelling on a 15,000-kilometer journey across 14 countries, with their destination set as Makkah by April 27.

Fauwaz Zamzam, a pilot, documents his daily travels on Facebook, sharing videos which capture the scenery of each country he passes through.

At the time of writing, Fauwaz has traversed several countries, including Thailand, Laos, China, and is now in Kathmandu, Nepal en route to India later today.

He has travelled the entire distance in his trusty Proton Wira.

The trip was not without challenges.

The journey from China to Nepal took them 10 days, covering over 3,600 kilometres.

However, on the fifth day of travel, Fauwaz encountered a setback in Laos when his tyre was punctured after hitting a pothole, causing damage to the rim as well.

Nevertheless, he managed to repair the vehicle the following day before proceeding to the Boten Border in Laos-China.

Prior to continuing their journey to India today, Fauwaz made a pit stop in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he serviced his car at a Perodua service centre.

According to a news report, the team comprises 20 individuals, travelling in 10 vehicles ranging from motorcycles to cars, including a Proton Wira and a Modenas Kriss 110 motorcycle.

The group is known as the Malaysia-Mecca Friendship Journey.

Followers on Fauwaz's Facebook page have been praying for the team's safe arrival in Makkah and for the continuation of their smooth journey.
