KUALA LUMPUR : A family's brand-new Proton X50 was damaged by floods in Puchong just one hour after they had picked it up from the showroom.

This incident was shared by Facebook user @Azhazul Azri. He shared two posts and one photo, which showed the happiness of the family receiving their new Proton X50 from the showroom.

Another image contrasted sharply, revealing the car partially submerged in floodwaters on a Puchong road.

He said his younger sibling delivered the customer's car at 5pm and by 6pm, the customer's car was submerged.

"Fortunately, my sibling insisted the customer (who is their friend) to add a special perils coverage.

He mentioned that sales agents earn a minimal commission, sometimes as little as RM10, when customers opt for additional coverage.

Their primary aim is to ensure customers have peace of mind when unforeseen incidents, like this one, occur.
