KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has identified a factual error in a TikTok clip uploaded by a news portal earlier today, which misled the public regarding recent enforcement actions.

In a statement, the MACC clarified that the clip inaccurately reported statements made by MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya.

The clip suggested that the anti-graft busters had arrested several enforcement officers for a specific case, which was not accurate.

The correct information, according to the MACC, is that the officers were arrested for allegedly providing protection to illegal premises, not as the clip had suggested.

"In response to the error, the news portal has removed the TikTok clip and acknowledged the mistake. The portal has posted a correction on its website," the statement said.
