KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the National Training Week (NTW) 2024 highlight and closing ceremony this evening at the Parking B area of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

NTW 2024, which commenced on Monday, is organised by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) under the Human Resources Ministry.

It aims to instil a culture of lifelong learning among Malaysians by offering opportunities for skill enhancement and education free of charge.

The programme encompasses five focus areas: life skills, future skills, creativity and innovation, financial and sustainable development, selected based on talent and industry needs in Malaysia.

As of Thursday, NTW 2024 has successfully registered about 330,000 Malaysians in 65,000 free courses, surpassing the original target of 200,000 participants in 25,000 courses set by the ministry.

Introduced in 2023, NTW successfully provided over 21,000 free courses to over 129,000 Malaysians, accumulating over 503,000 training hours. – BERNAMA
