PETALING JAYA: Allianz Malaysia Berhad once again hosted the fourth edition Allianz Media Badminton 2024 Tournament at TT Sport Centre recently.

A total of 70 players with 10 teams took part in the tournament are New Straits Times (NST), Harian Metro, Media Mulia, Bernama, The Star, Sinar Harian, Astro, China Press, Malaysia Kini and Allianz aim to strengthen networks and relationships with media practitioner.

Harian Metro was the newest media team making their debut this year. The tournament was played in a round-robin format featuring two men's doubles and one mixed doubles.

"This annual media tournament is something I look forward to as badminton is a sport I thoroughly enjoy. It also gives us a chance to engage with our media friends away from work. As I always say, work hard, play hard and congratulations to all winners today," said Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Allianz team captain, Sean Wang.

Astro emerged as champion when defeating NST team with aggregate 2-1, while NST were defending champions last year and took runners-up, Bernama and The Star were third and fourth placing respectively.

All winners earned the badminton sports goods.

Prizes were presented by Group Head of Corporate Communications, Allianz Malaysia Berhad, Shamala Gopalan.
