PAPAR: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today stressed that it is not a "fringe party."

The party's success, he said, can be seen in how seven ministers from Umno have contributed towards strengthening the unity government at the federal level.

"In addition, we also have seven deputy ministers, including Tok Moh (Kimanis member of parliament Datuk Mohamad Alamin)."

"In fact, I see that he has the potential to become a full minister after the General Election (GE).

"I am confident that with his performance, Tok Moh has significant potential to rise to higher positions," he said during his speech at the inauguration of the Kimanis Umno Division Delegates Conference at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kimanis Hall today.

Also present were Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Kimanis Umno division chief, Datuk Mohamad Alamin.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister, believes that the success of a party does not solely depend on individual personalities but on the unity of leaders and members in caring for the people.

"As I had previously stressed before, there would be no leaders if they did not have full support from the others," he said.
