SEREMBAN: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Negri Sembilan seized 3,000 litres believed to be subsidised diesel, estimated to be worth RM6,450, at a petrol station in Jalan Rasah yesterday (May 30).

State KPDN director Muhammad Zahir Mazlan said that during the raid, a lorry and an Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tank with a 1,000-litre capacity, along with two electric pumps, were also confiscated, bringing the total value of the seizure to RM16,650.

"Through the surveillance operation codenamed Op Tiris, four officers successfully detected the suspicious activity involving a Nissan lorry refuelling at the station. "Following this, a 45-year-old local man was detained on suspicion of dealing with controlled scheduled goods without a valid licence or permit," he said in a statement here today (May 31).

He added that two investigation papers have been opened against the lorry driver and the petrol station owner for further investigation under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 to identify the individuals or companies involved in this activity and the diesel distribution network. — BERNAMA
