KUALA LUMPUR: Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil condemns the death threat and two bullets sent to Seputeh member of parliament Teresa Kok yesterday.

Fahmi, who is the unity government spokesman, expressed deep regret over the incident, saying such threats should not be directed at any elected representative.

He said MPs should not be threatened as they represent the voice of the people.

"I regret that such threats are being directed at members of parliament elected by the people.

"They have the right to speak up. This applies to both government and opposition MPs.

"I strongly condemn such actions. This is shameful," he said at a press conference today.

Fahmi said Kok had filed a police report and the matter would be left to the authorities to investigate.

In a Facebook post today, Kok said she found a letter containing bullets in her mailbox last night and she had lodged a police report.
