JOHOR BAHRU: The funeral prayers for Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar, 22, and Constable Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said, 24, who were killed in an attack at the Ulu Tiram police station yesterday, were held at the Johor police headquarters' Masjid Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil this morning.

The remains of two policemen were taken in a hearse van from Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) and arrived at the mosque at about 9.20 am. Post-mortems were performed on the remains last night.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain together with hundreds of congregants consisting of officers and members of the Royal Malaysia Police as well as the family members of the fallen policemen performed the funeral prayers, led by Johor Bahru district Imam Mohd Nazri Ali.

In the 2.45am attack yesterday, three were killed, namely Ahmad Azza Fahmi, Muhamad Syafiq and the 21-year-old suspect.

Another policeman, Corporal Mohd Hasif Roslan was also injured in the incident and is being treated at Sultan Ismail Hospital and reported to be in stable condition. – BERNAMA
