JOHOR BARU: More than 50 plainsclothes policemen were seen patrolling around the Ulu Tiram police station here following an attack by a masked intruder early this morning.

The route to the police station was completely closed with traffic being diverted to alternative directions.

An area outside the station and next to the police guardhouse has been cordoned off with police tape and four spent bullet casings are visible on the road.

Firearms believed to have been seized by the suspect and used in the incident were also seen placed near the guardhouse.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain arrived at the scene of the incident at about 10.45am, where he was briefed by Johor police chief Commissioner M Kumar and proceeded to inspect the area where the incident occurred.

Several bullet casings were also seen in the compound of the police barracks next to the Ulu Tiram police station.

Two policemen were killed, and another injured in the incident. The attacker was shot dead at the scene.
