KUALA KUBU BAHARU: The voter turnout for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election has reached 26 per cent as of 11am today.

The matter was confirmed by Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Professor Azmi Sharom when he visited the polling centre at SMK Kuala Kubu Bharu here today.

A total of 39,362 ordinary voters are eligible to vote in today's by-election, triggered by the death of its three-term incumbent, DAP's Lee Kee Hiong.

The battle for Kuala Kubu Baharu sees a four-cornered fight involving Pang Sock Tao (Pakatan Harapan), Khairul Azhari Saut (Perikatan Nasional), Hafizah Zainuddin (Parti Rakyat Malaysia) and Nyau Ke Xin (Independent).

Voting ends at 6pm across 17 polling stations in Kuala Kubu Baharu.

The voting centre in SJKC Bukit Fraser where there are only 40 registered voters, will close at 2pm.
