KUALA LUMPUR: Taylor's University has lodged a police report following the spread of a video allegedly depicting one of its students engaged in a physical altercation with a security guard.
A spokesman said the university will also provide support to the student.
"Taylor's University takes the well-being of our students seriously. We have investigated the incident involving a student and security personnel from a building nearby.
"We emphasise that the security personnel is not affiliated with Taylor's. We have lodged a report with the authorities and will provide support to our student," the spokesman said.
Several videos of the incident are making the rounds on social media. In them a security guard is seen beating up a teenager in an area believed to be a parking lot.
In at least one video, several men can be seen helping the teen by pushing away the guard.
