IPOH: The Perak government will provide special assistance to the families of three Navy personnel from Perak.

"The Perak government will assist their families in terms of education and other support. We will assess the type of aid that can be provided," said Perak Health committee chairman A Sivanesan.

The personnel involved are Petty Officer II TMK Mohd Shahrizan Mohd Termizi from Lekir; Petty Officer II TNL Nurfarahimi Mohd Suady from Selama, and Lieutenant T Sivasutan from Sitiawan.

Meanwhile, The forensic investigation process on the 10 bodies of Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) members and officers who perished in the helicopter crash in Lumut is nearing completion.

The procedure, carried out at the Forensic Department of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here, is now in its final stages.

He said that all medical personnel involved have been working tirelessly since yesterday evening.

"All medical staff at HRPB have been working hard, and State Health Department officers have also been deployed to assist in expediting the forensic investigation process.

"I understand that the management of the bodies will be completed by 1pm,"he told reporters when met at the forensic department's compound at HRPB today.

Earlier, he visited the families of the victims gathered in a special area provided at the hospital.

Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister, Adly Zahari, arrived at the forensic department of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here.

Adly's vehicle arrived at around 11am.

A Royal Malaysian Navy vehicle also brought Navy chief Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman Ayob, who arrived at 10.50am.
