MARUDI: Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) is set on enhancing the economic activities of Marudi's residents, focusing significantly on agriculture, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

During a recent Aidilfitri gathering, DUBS president Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan highlighted the organisation's commitment to boosting local agriculture, including palm oil, rubber and pepper cultivation.

Abang Helmi said the Sarawak government, through DUBS, has facilitated this initiative by providing two essential pieces of machinery – a tracked excavator and a wheeled excavator.

These machines are to be shared among all registered DUBS members at substantially reduced rental rates, thereby accelerating agricultural activities in the region.

Further encouraging the youth to engage actively in entrepreneurship to enhance their economic prospects, Abang Helmi also noted the importance of integrating modern business practices into traditional sectors.

At the same event, Marudi's DUBS also distributed aid to 10 recipients, including single mothers and persons with disabilities, underscoring its commitment to social welfare.
