KOTA KINABALU: In a bid to safeguard pangolins, the world's most trafficked mammals, the Sabah State Library at Tanjung Aru is gearing up for a day of awareness and action, it revealed in a Facebook post on April 15.

Marking World Pangolin Day, the library, alongside partners Danau Girang Field Centre and Sabah Wildlife Department, will host an awareness program replete with activities and learning experiences.

The event, which will happen on April 27 from 9.30am to 3pm, is open to the public without charge. It promises an array of attractions including expert talks, wildlife encounters, and video screenings designed to shine a light on the challenges pangolins face.

Children and families can look forward to interactive quizzes, colouring contests, and educational games. Additionally, the program features upcycling workshops and bingo, blending creativity with conservation messages.

The Sabah State Library will also facilitate library membership registration and the issuing of e-certificates for participants, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement and education.
