KOTA BARU: Pas conveyed its condolences to Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh for the loss of his three sons and grandchildren, who were killed in an Israeli air strike.

Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man shared this in a Facebook post.

"Pas would like to express our deepest condolences on the death of Ismail's three sons, namely Hazen Haniyeh, Amir Haniyeh and Muhammad Haniyeh. Also killed were his grandchildren."

"Israel's continuous attack on the holy land of Muslims on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri is an ongoing series of Israeli genocidal acts against the Palestinian people.

"Indeed, their death will certainly cause Muslims to rise not only in Palestine but also all over the world," said Tuan Ibrahim.

The Kubang Kerian MP said Pas would continue to push for an urgent ceasefire and the opening of the Rafah border gate to speed up humanitarian aid in the form of medicines and basic daily needs for the people in Gaza.

"I would like to call on everyone not forget our brothers in Palestine by continuing to pray for their victory," he added.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also has conveyed his condolence to Ismail.

Anwar reached out to Ismail after learning of the attack that killed Ismail's family members.

"On behalf of all Malaysians, I state our unwavering solidarity and togetherness with Ismail's family and the entire Palestinian people who have lost their family members.

"The loss of innocent lives, especially children in such a tragic manner is very hard to accept by anyone," Anwar said in a statement, adding that Malaysia condemned and criticised the continued Israeli aggression that is fuelling the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Foreign Ministry had earlier stated in a statement that Malaysia harshly condemned the continued attacks by the Israeli regime targeting Palestinians, including air strikes on the Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza, especially when Palestinians and Muslims around the world are celebrating Aidilfitri.

The ministry added that Malaysia will continue to strongly oppose the violent actions and genocide clearly orchestrated by Israel against the Palestinian people.
