PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has issued yet another stern warning to officials at enforcement agencies in reflecting the government's seriousness in combating corruption and curbing leakages.

"I'm keeping a close watch to ensure that there's no issue of corruption," he said in his speech at the Finance Ministry's monthly assembly today.

Anwar, who is also finance minister applauded Customs Department director-general Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin for her action against staff found to have committed misconduct.

This came following the latest case of 34 Customs Department officers being involved in a smuggling syndicate, which had contributed to a loss of about RM2 billion to the country.
