KUALA LUMPUR: The company claiming ownership of a luggage containing cash over RM500,000 found at the parking lot of a shopping centre in Damansara, Petaling Jaya, has yet to provide their testimony.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that police received a report from the director of the company in his forties yesterday.

"The Officer-in-Charge of the Damansara Police Station has summoned the complainant to provide his testimony.

"However, the complainant failed to attend, citing various reasons such as attending meetings and illness," he said when contacted by Harian Metro.

Harian Metro previously reported that a security guard at a shopping centre in Damansara found a bag containing cash at the parking lot.

Hussein was reported as saying that investigations revealed the bag contained banknotes of RM50 and RM100 denominations, with a total amount exceeding RM500,000.

He said that police are examining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage but it did not focus on the location where the bag was found, and requested the owner of the bag to come forward with evidence if they wish to claim the money.

Subsequently, the police received a report from a company claiming ownership of the said bag.
