SIBU: A total of 41 mosques and surau in the area have received contributions amounting to RM205,000 to conduct programmes and activities throughout the Ramadan month.

Sarawak Education, Innovation and Talent Development Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee said each mosque and surau received RM5,000.

"A sum of RM1,000 was donated by the Sibu Welfare Trust Board (Lakis), while the remaining RM4,000 came from the Nangka Service Centre.

"This annual contribution helps mosques and surau carry out their activities throughout Ramadan," he said during the contribution presentation ceremony at Masjid Al-Qadim Sibu on Feb 11.

Additionally, the Permanent Committee for Islamic Celebrations Sibu also received part of these contributions.
