KLANG: An 11-year-old girl received 15 stitches after being attacked and bitten by two stray dogs near her home at Taman Suria Pendamar apartment here, on Sunday.

According to the victim's mother, Norhashiqin Rosli, 29, the incident occurred around 2 pm when Nur Acha Dawina was taking out the trash with her aunt.

"My sister said that as they were disposing of the garbage, two dogs surrounded and barked at them as if they wanted to attack.

"In a panic, my sister ran towards the apartment block while Nur Acha Dawina ran onto the street and was chased by the two dogs before she fell down and was bitten by one of the dogs."

"As I was watching from above, I screamed for passersby to chase away the dogs while I rushed downstairs."

"As a result of the attack, my daughter suffered severe injuries, including large wounds on her head, ear, legs, and hands," she said when met at the apartment today.

Nurhashiqin said her daughter was rushed to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang and underwent a six-hour surgery from noon until 6 p.m. yesterday.

She said Nur Acha Dawina is now in a stable condition but still under medical observation due to the severe injuries.

Nurhashiqin said they had just moved to the apartment a month ago, adding that her daughter often became a target of dogs in the residential area.

However, she did not expect the dogs to act aggressively by attacking and biting her daughter.

"A report has been made to the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK), and yesterday they captured three dogs in this area.

"I was informed that stray dogs started appearing in this area because some residents were feeding them.

"I hope after what happened to my daughter, the authorities will take action to capture these stray dogs as they pose a danger to the residents of this area," she said.

She said a police report would be filed after obtaining a confirmation letter from the hospital.

Meanwhile, during a check, MBDK personnel were seen searching for the remaining stray dogs in the area.

It is understood that there are more than five stray dogs in the apartment area.
