KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the force by conducting several surprise visits, including to a police officer who suffered a stroke.
The visits began last Friday, which saw Razarudin visiting the Seberang Prai Utara District police headquarters Special Branch officer, Detective Corporal Ganeshwaran Sithambaram, at his residence in Kajang, Selangor.

Ganeshwaran had suffered a stroke on Sept 5, 2020, resulting in the loss of movement in his legs and left hand, as well as difficulty speaking.
A TikTok video posted by the police official account shows the country's top cop inquiring about Ganeshwaran's current health condition, which was seen to be improving, but still required careful attention from family members.
He also took the opportunity to contribute and offered words of encouragement to Ganeshwaran and his wife.
Razarudin, accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Zainah Othman, who is also Members of the Police Family Association (Perkep) chairman, then visited retired police officer and former member of the police band, Mustamin Shahabudin, 61, at his home in Telok Air Tawar, Butterworth, Penang, yesterday.

The couple also fulfilled Mustamin's request, who lost his right leg due to diabetes, to record the meaningful encounter, while giving him words of encouragement.
Today, Razarudin visited Kulim district police headquarters motorcycle patrol unit (URB) policeman, Corporal Muhammad Khairul Syafiq Ahmad, 33, who was involved in an accident while on duty on July 16, 2022.
In the incident, Khairul, riding a motorcycle, chased a Nissan Frontier lorry that fled from police inspection on Lebuh Raya Perdana, Jalan Kulim-Serdang.
Khairul's motorcycle was then crushed by the lorry, which was driven recklessly and dangerously, causing him to suffer serious head injuries.
