KUANTAN: Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Amizar Abu Adam, who was sworn in as the new Pahang executive council (exco) member yesterday, has been put in charge of the Felda affairs, cooperatives and entrepreneurs portfolio.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, who announced the minor restructuring of the state exco portfolios, said Muadzam Shah assemblyman Razali Kassim will take the portfolio of public works, transport and health.

He said third-term Bebar assemblyman Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff will helm the local government, housing, environment and green technology portfolio.

"The Pahang exco meeting today (Feb 14) has restructured the portfolios involving three exco members. This is done in line with Amizar's appointment as a state exco member.

"The portfolio restructuring comes into effect immediately. I take the opportunity to congratulate the exco's involved and hope the portfolio restructuring will ensure a more solid administration especially to deliver the best services to the people across the state," he said in a statement today.

Amizar won the Pelangai state constituency by-election on Oct 7 last year, which was held following the death of its incumbent, Datuk Seri Johari Harun, who previously served as the state local government, housing, environment and green technology committee chairman. Johari died in a plane crash in Bandar Elmina, Shah Alam, on Aug 17 last year.

After the 15th general election, Fakhruddin was placed in charge of the public works, transport and health portfolio while Razali was the state Felda affairs, cooperatives and entrepreneurs committee chairman.

The Pahang state exco line-up has 10 members, including two from Pakatan Harapan.
