KLANG: The Selangor State Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) conducted manual excavation to retrieve the bodies of the plane crash victims in Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar, here, today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail stated that the search efforts were aided by the Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Civil Defence Force (APM), RELA, the Royal Klang Municipal Council, and the surrounding residents.

"The search operation was conducted by the fire department using the 'sweeping' method within an 800-meter radius from the wing debris of the aircraft to the main wreckage, believed to have crashed at a 45 percent angle during flight.

"The fire department also employed manual excavation methods with the assistance of heavy machinery based on body fragments found around the aircraft wreckage.

"At 7.06pm, the first victim, located in the cockpit of the aircraft, buried five feet (approximately 1.5 meters) underground, was successfully retrieved by the fire department, and the second victim at 7.17pm," he said in a statement today.

Wan Md Razali stated that the JBPM membership strength consists of 15 officers and 23 other ranks of firefighters.

Earlier, it was reported that Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed that the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the light aircraft accident involving a BK 160 Gabriel model that crashed in Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar.

He said the victims involved were local residents, namely Daniel Yee Hsiang Khoon, 30, and Roshaan Singh Raina, 42.

The aircraft departed from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS), Subang at 1.28pm for a recreational flight.
