TAPAH: The bodies of two siblings who were swept away by a water surge tragedy in Sungai Kenjur near Kampung Poh, Bidor here have been found.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said the bodies of Hanna Mikayla Azam, 7, and Hanum Marissa Azam, 2 were found at about 9am and 9.10am, about an hour after the search and rescue operation began today.
"Following this, the search and rescue operation has been called off," she said briefly.
Yesterday, it was reported that the family's picnic plans turned into tragedy when the mother was found dead, while three of her children went missing in the water surge tragedy.
The body of Aszura Bani, 37, was found at about 4.30pm yesterday, and about five hours later, her son's body, Hafif Muhayat Azam, 4, was found by villagers.
Besides the two of them, three other individuals were found safe. They were Aslinda Bani, 38, her 11-year-old nephew and an Indonesian maid in her 30s.
