PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) cannot find the original podcast video that had a man facing sexual charges as a guest.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil today said the findings were based on an MCMC investigation following a report it had received.

"The MCMC did not find any relevant video (of the said podcast).

"My office has also examined the matter and could not find the video," he said after the cabinet meeting

Recently, a streaming website invited Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, also known as Hot Daddy, as a podcast guest despite the latter facing charges for advertising sexual services on X.

The matter has received backlash from the public, including Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noor, who expressed dismay about the matter.

He said the man's action was disappointing and could be considered as promoting and normalising promiscuity.

Fahmi reminded podcasters and content creator to exercise self-control when expressing their thoughts on social media.

He added that while the government had no intention of regulating the content of podcasts, it could take action against those who broke the law.

"We have the right to speak and this is stated in the constitution. However, there is a limit to it as we have laws and culture (that we need to follow)."
